Blokada 5 blocks ads and trackers in every app and browser on your Android phone or tablet. It is free, open source, and needs no account and no root.
It runs on Android 5 and newer.
Why it is not on Google Play
Google Play does not allow apps that block ads in other apps, so Blokada 5 cannot be published there. The file on this page is the official one, built from the public source code.
Download it only from blokada.org. Copies on other apk sites may be out of date or changed.
How to install it
- Tap the download button above on your Android device.
- Open the downloaded file. You find it in your browser's downloads or in the Files app.
- Android asks whether this app may install apps. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.
- Tap Install, then Open.
- Tap the power button in Blokada. Android asks to set up a VPN connection: tap OK.
Blokada 5 uses Android's VPN feature to filter ads on the device itself. Your traffic is not sent to a VPN server.
Blokada 5 or Blokada 6
Blokada 5 is the older app. It stays free.
Blokada 6 is the current app, and it is on Google Play and the App Store. It blocks in the cloud, so it works on iPhone, on computers and on the other devices in your home too. It needs a subscription, with a 7 day free trial.
